Put a Kick in the Learning Curve

A colourful description of a PPI collaborative event in the North East NHS in September 2004 which has just appeared on the NatPact Engaging Communities Network site. Expert patients, Patients Forums, Forum Support Organisations and representatives from clinical networks across Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, Tees Valley and County Durham identified ways to work together to get to grips with whole system changes like managing chronic conditions – which is where most of the NHS’s resources go . Ably facilitated by Bob Sang and Roy Patterson, it sounds like the North East is being progressive. Other parts of the NHS could do with a good “kick up the learning curve” too.
