Life after the CPPIH

There will be life after the abolition of the Commission for Patient and Public Involvement, probably by mid-2006. Patients Forums, so Ministers say, will remain as statutory bodies and be better supported. The big question is how and when will all of this happen? A consultation is underway about parts of this complex question. But there are significant gaps. Christine Hogg, well known independent commentator on public involvement issues, has addressed two key topics affecting the future for Forums. M-A-C is pleased to make her discussion papers available here. The first explores the question of a national organisation for PPI Forums. The second looks at options for reconfiguring Forums. These are hot topics and your feedback will be welcome as part of the wider debate on what life after the Commission should be like.
