Know what works?

If you’re wondering what works in community health improvement, then the Kings Fund’s new report Finding Out What Works should help separate the merely wishful thinking from the evidence-based. Capacity building and engagement of practitioners and users in achieving sustainable health improvements must not be entrusted to ministerial whim and alluring rhetoric. The report’s lead author is Anna Coote, just appointed head of PPI at the Healthcare Commission. So perhaps this is a signpost of the direction HC will take as it develops its engagement agenda. We hope so.
